Damiana Achar, a 29 year old mother of six, lives in a very rural settlement in Lambaré, Paraguay. Her husband is a bricklayer and she collects recyclable items off the streets, struggling to raise their family.

A few years ago, “A Roof for My Country”, a group of volunteers who builds simple homes for those less fortunate, built Damiana and her family a wooden house (pictured below). Damiana confessed that due to her economic situation, she knew it was impossible for her to get her family the dental care they needed.

It’s people like Damiana and her family that our teams work so hard to provide help for. She was just one of about 60 patients who were able to receive dental care, free of charge, during our team’s two day dental clinic in Lambaré.
